The Backbone of a Forklift Truck
Also referred to as an 'Upright', the 'Mast' is the vertical assembly on the front of the forklift that does the work of lifting, lowering, and tilting the load.
Under the category, a three-stage mast (a.k.a. Triplex/ TSU/ FSV) is the most versatile forklift mast and also the most popular. The mechanism extends the load further to reach greater heights.
It includes two sliding rails and a single stationary rail for three stage lift with a full free lift. A secondary lift cylinder in the center of the mast assembly performs most of the lifting of the forks and carriage. This cylinder lifts the middle section and a chain system, which pulls the inner section and the carriage when the mast is fully extended.
This mast type is a good choice for general warehouse applications.
